Dear Student and Parents,

We are delighted in the interest you have expressed in applying to one of La Joya ISD's high school academies.  Each of the academies offers the high school student an extensive education by utilizing a rigorous curriculum that is designed to bridge the gap between high school and college and the work force.  Therefore, whether you are planning on pursuing a college degree in fine arts, engineering, technology, health science, etc., or directly entering the work force, the academy experience will provide an opportunity to extend your present knowledge and skills through a quality academic program.

The academy is a unique concept for La Joya ISD in that it offers students, not only a college preparatory and career related curriculum, but also many benefits including: mentorship's, apprenticeships, linkages to higher education, concurrent and dual enrollment, community service, and related and applied technologies.  In addition, staff members actively pursue partnerships with other universities and professional organizations to further benefit our students.

It is in our very near future plans to expand our academy program into other areas of study to fully provide an array of opportunities for the students of La Joya ISD.

Ultimately, the goal of the academy program at la Joya ISD is to provide opportunities through career pathways that will help develop students into well educated, innovative, motivated, and responsible young adults who will competently and confidently face the challenges of the 21st century.
