The Math, Science and Technology Academy is in high demand. Since the United States has a severe shortage of well-educated, skilled workers in the areas of Math, Science, and Technology, and since according to Workforce 2020, Math, Science and Technology related occupations pay an average of 57% more than jobs in education, philosophy, and social work, this academy is extremely marketable for those students interested in the following careers: math, science, engineering, Computer Science, Web Mastering, Animation, Network Specialist, and Computer Specialist. The academic program in this academy prepares the students well to meet the challenges that await them at the university by offering college courses and college credit in high school. In fact, high school students may receive specialist certificates and associate degrees that are usually obtained at the college level. This academy also offers students opportunities to participate in robotics and engineering competitions at Texas A&M University in Kingsville. And it also offers students opportunities to go on college fieldtrips as well as to visit NASA. So if you are interested in a career in the math, science, and technology area, this academy may be for you. |
