The Director's Message

 
The Health Science Academy is in the business of service. Because of the high demand for health professionals, this academy provides an extensive education for
many occupations within the health sciences.  Participating in this academy gets students one step closer to becoming a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist, a dentist, a 
physical therapist, etc. through advanced concepts, skills and techniques.The Health Science Academy provides learning opportunities using hands-on experiences and 
collaborative efforts with medical professionals.

 
Along with the academic program provided, students will also have opportunities to compete in various health related
competitions. In fact several of our academy students have placed at state and national meets. Additionally, fieldtrips to various health facilities such as hospitals 
and nursing homes are also an integral part of this academy.  Thus, students get to see first hand if the medical profession is for them. The Health Science Academy also 
serves to educate the community in health issues as well as observe and job shadow medical practitioners.
